Where are You Staying?

Preview

“Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”  He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.”
John 1:38-39

Dwell - properly, settle down as a permanent resident, i.e. in a fixed (permanent) dwelling place as one's personal residence; (figuratively) "to be exactly at home."

It has been said, you don’t really know someone until you live with them. A person who really wants to get to know someone will want to be with that person wherever they live. I don’t mean in the sense of a home or any structural residence, but rather, where their heart is and where they reside in their thinking and beliefs.

At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, two of John’s disciples learned who He was, and wasted no time in joining Him in His dwelling place.

After the death and resurrection of Jesus, while two of His disciples were in route to Emmaus, He joined them, pointing out throughout scripture what was spoken of Him. Upon approaching their destination, they asked Jesus to stay and it was then and in that place, He revealed Himself. (Luke 24:28-31)

If we are in Christ, He will be knocking in every area of our lives. There is no private place. He will be knocking where we work and where we play, in our homes, and where we stay.
For Christ has made us His dwelling place.
(Revelation 3:20, John 14:20, Ephesians 3:16-17)

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2
